"Mortals call my homeland ‘Hell’, but I assure you, the weather is actually quite pleasant this time of year."
-Melface

Thanatos, mostly known to mortals as Hell, is a dimension that souls of those who have lead a life devoted to "evil" go to when they die. It's dark and gloomy and looks like the inside of a volcano. The inhabitants are the souls of the dead and the demons and imps who torture them. The entire dimension is plagued with the stench of death and the temperature is extremely high all the time, explaining the near immunity to fire demons have. It is described by most as the most chaotic, depressing and horrifying dimension in existence.

The geography of hell has never been recorded. There are a few named cities, however unlike other worlds Hell has no planets or space. It is one place, which may possibly be just infinitely huge and just continues to loop with areas of tortured souls.

Hell has found it's way into common vocabulary, such as many people cursing others to go there, or them just using the word in vain as a basic curse word (ie: "What the hell!?"). The word hell is even used to describe something looking very bad (ie: "This place looks like hell!").

The former ruler of hell was a dark god named Qor, that was killed by a mere mortal, which possessed a powerful weapon. A war was broken out by two strong demons known as Iban and Abodahon. After a few years, Abodahon was killed on one of his visits to Gaian, and Iban took rule.

History

  • Abodahon atempted to overthrow the dark god Qor, but failed. Qor let Abodahon live, but not without getting some severe damage to his upper arms.
  • Qor was killed by a woman named Nevina, who got into hell by jumping into a hell gate opened by Armic, in attempt to close the gate.
  • Calavous had opened the gate to hell while trying to defeat the fallongs. (He was a member of elite squad ordered to destroy the fallongs)He accidentally got pulled in, and a few years later his brother Nick reopened the gate to pull him out.
  • Abodahon was overthrown by Iban and his group of followers. The two of them were rivals trying to gain the throne of the lord of hell. Iban however did not gain power, due to a couple of other competitors. Abodahon was locked up in chains, but was soon released by Melkoth.
  • Quite recently, strange writings on the walls of Hell near by a market place highly changed the thinking of the demons in that area.
  • Draven attempted to summon a vast army of demons, but the spell backfired and he was thrown into hell along with the entire Crimson Capital. The ravenous demons turned on him instantly.
  • Abodahon was killed on Gaian. Iban was then able to take rule.
  • The Talonscar rejoined and built a secret hideout in Thantos, hidden from the watchful eye of Iban.
