Description

The tall man exudes just one color: black. At 6’ 6”, he is completely coved from his neck down in heavy black onix-like armor. His gauntlets are black, his boots are black, his cape is black… His hair (also black) is comparable in length to Draven’s, yet rather than tying it back, it falls wildly across his face and back in spikes. His face is the only contrast to his silhouette of a figure, his skin being somewhat paler than most.

After returning from the void, Jayce bears a scar across his forehead and right cheek-- the likely remains of a punishment handed down by his father for his disobedience...

Bio

Son of the Dark Emperor Retan and heir to the throne, Jayce commanded the western division of the empire’s army. Taking after his father, he is master of the black arts, or the shadow element. The violent man loves destruction and hates just about everything else. His voice is somehow refined and brutish at the same time, resembling a British accent.

In Chapter 3

Arriving at Romme with Neptra, Jayce taunted Draven's inability to find the sword the eastern High General was sent to retrieve. Jayce battles a variety of opponents, including Shin of Aritan. The dark Draken kills the angelic form of Qeni and shows his dragon form in a fearsome battle against Zeros'. When he learns of Neptra's death, however, he becomes enraged and begins to bicker with his father during a crucial spell casting. His distraction causes Retan to lose control of his spell, and father and son are trapped in a vortex for over five years...

In Chapter 9

By manipulating the alchemist Allen, Retan and Jayce are able to return to Gaian, causing much attention from the forces of all sides. The Dark Emperor re-summons the The Great Black Vessel, and Jayce waits up on top meeting Zeros' and Seijin, among others. Flaunting his power, Jayce declares a sick game in which the object is to prevent him from killing innocent people, and he speeds off to Kesnar, a port town in Tjed. A battle ensues with both sides holding back. Jayce because he sees his opponents as inferior, the others because they do not wish to destroy the town. Jayce's battle is interrupted when Retan calls him back, and he disappears into the darkness.

Retan and Jayce return to the Lower Dark Empire, a seemingly underground world known as Mizar inhabited by bipedal lizard men. Jayce is thrilled with the vast number of lizard warriors that will soon be under his command and muses over the preparations of war.

In Chapter 10

Returning to Gaian, Jayce finds his old rival Draven and tries to kill him before the Dark Emperor finds out, fearing his father may still have a soft spot for the pitiful human. The battle is brief, though intense, and Jayce breaks off when he realizes Retan has arrived on the Dark Continent.

Jayce later attends his father's banquet, though is visibly angered by Draven's presence. His hatred is later quelled into mocking delight as he watches his father banish his rival in an impressive display of magical might.

In Chapter 13

Jayce is finally defeated in a battle of epic proportions above southern Tjed with the combined efforts of Draven's Crimson Death Annihilation Attack, Duilin's Uber Shield used to contain the blast, and the help of many other warriors. The battle leaves a permanent crater upon the island.
