Sovereign's Hammer

The Hammer is a weapon. A big, scary, space-based weapon. It was built for Kronos and the Sovereignty by Vincent and other Kandarinian scientists.

The weapon comes in two parts - the actual Hammer, which is a prism in space, and the Enlightenment, a heavily modified airship designed to catch and reflect sunlight to proper coordinates.

The Hammer

The Sovereign's Hammer itself, as stated before, is a very large crystal prism based in space, somewhere near the Sol sun. It features a very thick crystal body, a rotating iris of sorts to focus sunlight and control its intensity. There are eight spider-like appendages attached to the prism. Those cool down the Hammer while it is not active, as well as preserve its fixed position in space and amplify the actual blast.

The Hammer was sent to orbit using one of Nightshade's gravity orbs. The NGO's destination for opening in space was modified to preferred coordinates, and then opened, transporting the separate pieces of the weapon into the orbit. Once in place, the pieces were forced to stick to each other through the use of glyphs inscribed on each piece. The whole process was controlled by an object known as the Binding Glyph. The destruction of the Binding Glyph will cause the entire weapon to fall apart.

The Enlightenment

The Hammer's firing projectory is fixed. This means that when the weapon fires, the spot it will fire upon is completely random - the correct coordinates are determined by nature, and may take millions of years to achieve properly. In order to remedy this problem, another prism was required - one which would catch the Hammer's beam and redirect it to wherever it is needed. The Enlightenment is such a prism - it is a very large modified airship. In fact, the "airship" part comes from the fact that airship-based flotation crystals are needed to get it off the planet - once there, a wholly different method of transportation will be employed. Two NGOs will be opened in small cages, attached to the metal beams around the ship. By moving those portals around, the Enlightenment will be able to change its direction of flight.

The ship itself looks like a very large, thick circle - a donut, if you will. Inside the donut there is a smaller ring, attached to the bigger ring by many thousands of small glass pipes and tubes. Finally, inside the smaller ring the actual prism itself resides, protected from any damage by two layers of armour on the smaller ring around it.
