A squad under Captain Carmine's command, assembled solely to hunt down and kill Alex.

Lieutenant Odessa Hoffman. A soldier for fifteen years past, he was a by-the-book soldier who bled in the trenches with his men. He was loyal to the KAF, and Carmine, to a fault. Hoffman had met Carmine a few years ago as his training officer, and the two became friends. Once again he would be called on to help Carmine complete his mission.

Sergeant Victor Sig, a loud- and foul-mouthed officer who pushed his men hard, and would soon realize what being pushed hard meant under Carmine’s commission. Carmine chose him over others for his excellent marksmanship. He could hit a grape with a spear from three hundred yards if he wanted to.

Corporal Les Grylls, who had, up to now, served for five years in the KAF, as a scout and recon agent. If he didn’t want to make a noise, he didn’t. He had previously been conscripted to scout Asgarnia prior to the Seven-Hour War, making note of defensive emplacements and weaknesses.

Corporal Adam Estacado, the squad’s Vanguard, armed with the heavy magic mortar cannon. Estacado had taken up a liking to blowing things up, using whatever explosives on hand to do the job. This earned him the moniker, “Boomer.”
