Flamethrower

A flamethrower.

This weapon could rule a sword-based battle with large jets of flame hotter than any flaming arrow, and just as portable. This amazing feat of engineering has a portable fuel supply on board the weapon, and uses pressure to propel large streams of fire at the enemy. The fuel used could be any hydrocarbon, such as gasoline, kerosene, or perhaps even methane. These fuels could be obtained by fractionalizing crude oil. However, how to pressurize a gas into a liquid to use as a flame propellant to shoot the fire is a challenge.

Vincent had a Flamethrower similar to the one used by Dr. Science in Dark Age EX (pictured).

This weapon has had several prototypes. It is believed that some ancient militaries were actually able to perfect the creation and use of these. The Grey Empire had a few prototypes made, however they were not the most successful. Several scientists in Asgarnia however have been working on flamethrowers trying to perfect them.

Other then Asgarnia, most nations and groups have lack of motivation to the development of flamethrowers as Fire Magic is very easy to learn, and widely used by mages.
