North Point

North Point was one of the Five Fortresses of the Crimson Empire, located on the northern coast of the Dark Continent.

Structure

North point is positioned at the end of a peninsula that juts out into the ocean with steep cliffs on either side. The only way into the fortress is though the southern gate, which means any ground army hoping to reach the fortress must traverse the long narrow peninsula first. Many dark towers jut up from this edifice. Despite its proximity to the ocean, North Point does not have a sea port due to the high cliffs.

History

North point was the only of the five major fortresses of the Crimson Empire never to have fallen. However when the Dark Emperor Retan returned, he made it his base of operations as he restored the Dark Empire, the Crimson soldiers of the fortress submitting to him without conflict in Chapter 10. The Dark Emperor's very presence seems to have sullied the structure, warping it and giving it a ghoulish, haunted look.
