Palace of the Emperor

The Palace of the Emperor is the larges stone temple known to mortals. There is one set of stone stairs on each side of the palace, and 91 stepps on each stairway, equaling 364 steps total. On the last day of the year, four of the emperor's royal guards climb the stairs and light four tourches on the top of the palace, showing the gods that the emperor had not left for over a year. If the tourches are not lit, then the crystals that surround the palace start to kill off one person a day.
