Post Chapter 10
From DALpedia

//Okay so, I talked to a few people over MSN and I think we've got enough people to start this. This will pick up right after Chapter 10.
If you had any unfinished business for Chapter 10, come post it here. Later on, we can have some fun with the story; it'll likely become non-cannon (unofficial to the true story) by the end, if it gets to crazy.
Same rules as DAL, except we'll allow some comment only posts, but try and limit them a bit, I don't want people posting like three comment only posts in a row.\\
The vortex in the sky as disappeared, the sky is lightening, as the sun begins to rise. Yet the darker times are coming.
The Kandarinian Sovereignty and the Dark Empire have already begun to take over. Now that the opposition is gone, the world is in their clutches.
But is their hope? There is still the matter of the Aspyes. Many of them have died in battle. Geif has fallen, yet some areas are ready to fight for their freedom. The resistance has begun.
Two men were walking about in a small village know as Aterra. The place is built on a plain of grass in the mountains. They are loyal to the Aspyes and Haraldur's flag flies high in the middle of the village. It is surrounded by stonewalls, with guards armed with machineguns protecting the city.
Lately there has been some strange happenings going on...
"I'm telling you, I swear I saw a something here."
"And I'm telling YOU, that you're crazy! People don't walk around without heads! It's just not possible!"
"I swear! It was over here."
The two men walk towards the near by cave into the mountains, it was a former mine; yet the minerals have been exhausted. The place is usually left alone now.
"God, this is stupid. I'm telling you, you're just seeing things." He steps into the cave. "There is no headless man in-" Suddenly a scream of terror and pain in heard then silence...
---
Meanwhile in Asgarnia...
Several Kandarin warriors were sitting in the ruined town hall. The commander was discussing battle plans with his troops.
"Sir!" A Kandarin trooper entered the conference room. "Intelligence has reported several survivors have been straggling around."
"Probably just some villagers, let them be, they'll get killed on their own."
"But, sir reports say they are armed and may be magic users. We found the abomination burnt to a crisp."
"Well find them then! Kill them!"

//Yay, time to tie up some loose ends!\\
Dawn was soon to break over the city of Asgarnia, and with it, a new rule. Asgarnia, once a gleaming utopia of any man's dreams, now a ruined wasteland of destroyed buildings, devastated citizens, and tained water. The Kandarin Sovereignty had no idea of what happened underground. The Asgarnian Science Team and a certain ex-merc of twenty-seven were formulating a plan. Like a virus incubating inside its victim, it would strike when the time was right.
"Alex, come over here," motioned Kleiner. "I want to show you something."
"Oh? What is it?" Alex wondered what the old man had in store for him.
"Please forgive the unceremonious introduction," Kleiner said as he pulled on the handle of one of the sliding double doors in the lab. The interior was shrouded in darkness...that is, until Kleiner turned the light on. What Alex saw was unbelieveable.
"My God! You found the H.E.V. suit?" Alex exclaimed.
"Wrong," Kleiner replied. "Say hello to the P.C.S. Mk-II tactical system."
"P.C.S.?"
"Why, Personal Combat Suit, of course!" said Kleiner. "It's a far more advanced version of the H.E.V. suit previous to it. This system is far more focus on combat and tactical advantage. The science team had to pool all of their resources to produce this, so please, don't lose this one..."
"Wait-wait-wait. You're just going to give it to me?" Alex asked, astounded.
"After all you've done, Alex, I think you've earned it," answered Kleiner. "The new system is more heavily armored, so it'll be harder to destroy. The fusion process has also been streamlined, the fusion cycle should last nearly ten times longer than it did before. The resonance cascade has enticed the growth of the necessary metals needed to power the suit, so you should be relatively safe. The medical systems have also been greatly improved. The response time to an injury has been cut in half. Last, but not least, a feature that I believe you will come to enjoy."
Kleiner pressed a button on the wrist of the suit, and a razor-sharp sycthe extended out of the forearm.
"Nice," Alex said, clearly impressed.
"If you're ever in close combat, simply whip out this scythe and you'll rule the battle," Kleiner replied.
"Wow, Isaac, this is just...wow. I can't believe you'd trust such a lethal weapon to me."
"We can think of no better person to entrust it to. We ask just one thing in return. We would greatly appreciate it if you could help citizens of Asgarnia make their way out of the city before the Kandarin Sovereignty instates their rule over it," Kleiner proposed.
"So what you're saying is..."
"We want you to assist us in an uprising against Kandarin," Kleiner said.
Alex stared into the suit's reflective visor, and back at Kleiner.
"Isaac, you got yourself a rebel."

The Sovereignty had already begun building the place into a Kandarinian outpost. The town hall had been completely taken over; already they had connected the place with the Kandarin commutation system.
Meanwile Geif had already gone under similar changes.
The lieutenant commander at the Asgarnian town hall had communicated General Roland at Geif.
A ghostly figure of Roland appeared over the communications orb.
"What is it lieutenant?" Roland asked.
"General, reports say that a band of rebels are still in the area, we are unable to find them." He replied.
"Well, keep looking then, and stop wasting my time!" He about to break connection but then was struck with a hunch on who might be there. "Wait, weren't those two rebels dropped down around there. The ones that infiltrated the temple?"
"Why, yes. You think it could be them."
"Maybe. Keep looking for them. I'm coming over."

//I'm actually going to use this to develop the side story with Jacob and the three Kandarinians.\\
-"Yes, as you were saying... What was your name again?"
Jacob sighed, and thought that there wasn't even a need to insult this one's intelligence.
-"Jacob."
-"Last name?"
-"Don't have one."
-"I see... so that's Jacob, the Necromancer... alright then. Now if you just take a seat here. I have to go submit this form to the Allocation."
Jacob sat down at the bench he was directed to, next to Soghol, who was carefully studying his own reflection in a large silver lamp hanging under the ceiling. Jacob, however, looked right at the commander.
-"GAWD! Stop STARING at me, damnit!"
-"I'm not staring."
-"Yes you ARE!!!"
-"Am not."
-"Are TOO!"
-"Am not."
-"Are TOO!!"
-"Am not..."
They continued in the same key for about half an hour, up to the point when the COAP came back into the room.
-"So, I have these directions --"
-"Are TOO!"
-"-- and they want to --"
-"Am not."
-"-- put you in a house next --"
-"Are TOO!!!"
-"-- to the palace."
-"Am no- what? Why next to the palace?"
-"The council of twelve believes you will be of interest to the Marshal."
-"Interesting. What about that twit that was here earlier? The one with the crappy threats?"
-"Oh, that's Vorren. He's off to brief his troops on some major assignment they're going on next. Speaking of that, Soghol, don't you have somewhere else to be?"
-"GAWD!!! ALWAYS giving me directions, EH!?"
Soghol opened the door, and took one last look at Jacob.
-"Oh, and by the WAY... ARE TOO!!!"
...and he slammed the door before Jacob could reply.

Marshall was walking along through the damaged city. "It doesn't look like there is anyone Coriko. Maybe we should just head back to the house outside."
"Hey what was that?" Said a voice from several meters away.
Marshall looked shocked, as he heard another voice. He turned in the direction of it. He then saw two men in Kandarin armour armed with spear guns, they were on the other side of the row of buildings, they spotted each other through the space between two of the buildings.
"There they are! Get 'em!" One of the warriors shouted.
Marshall took out one of his guns and fired a blast of ice at them. The shot missed, one of the soldiers fired at Marshall the spear stuck in to the ground less then a foot away from him. Marshall fired again, striking one of the warriors that cried in pain, as the blast of ice began to freeze his body, he fired two more shots then warrior was frozen solid. The second fighter shot a spear at Marshall yet he jumped out of the way.
The warrior then ran off.
"He's going to get others!" Marshall cried. "We got to get him!" He then propped open the gun and placed a few bullets in it, loading it back up. "Let's go..."
Posted by: Coriko on Monday October 30th, 2006
"I'm game, but let's make it interesting. First to take him down wins, what I don't know, but we'll figure that out later."
With that Coriko ducked down a side alley towards a ladder which he was eyeballing. Climbing up it as fast as he could. At the top he bolted accross the roof to the far side. He couldn't see marshall so he assumed he was ahead. Looking forward he saw the warrior running.
"He'll be there soon, gotta work fast."
Running back a few steps Coriko turned and bolted jumping the ledge for ther next roof. He caught up to the soldier quickly after a couple more of these and summoned his bow. Pulling an arrow out of his quiver, about to make the kill shot, he saw marshall going right for the soldier. He decided he was going to distract him so marshall could make the kill. *Thwip* he fired an arrow right in front of the soldier, who in turn, stopped and starred at him. Figuring that this may be one of the last things the man saw, he would make it great. Standing to full height, Coriko put his hands on his hips and looked in the distance. The classic hero stance.
"Nice stance Jack-Ass. Who are the the masked avengar."
Coriko, surprised by this answer called back to him;
"To bad those had to be your last words. Don't forget to tell me what dying's like when you get the chance."

Marshall popped out the blue crystal and replaced it with the yellow one, and put the blue one back into the case, he took out the other magi-pistol and loaded the red crystal into it.
'May as well take the opportunity to try using them both at the same time.'
He dashed between the two buildings were he last saw the soldier run. He saw Coriko standing in front of it. The soldier laughed as Coriko made his comeback, he loaded a spear into his gun and aimed it at Coriko, who was oddly standing still.
Marshall then fired a shot at the spear gun, a fireball smashed the weapon from his hand severely damaging the spear gun and rendered it useless.
The Kandarin Warrior turned and saw Marshall. The warrior then drew his wrist blade and dashed towards Marshall.
He fired a shot from one gun and then from the other, the two enchanted bullets struck the warrior, and he fell down to the ground, lifeless...
Marshall sighed as he holstered his weapons. "So, then Coriko. Shall we head back to the 'safe house'?" He asked, putting his mind off the fight.

Yeah, let's get out of the street, I don't want to risk another one of these soldiers finding us."
Coriko started walking forward with Marshall.
"So, whats your background. I mean how'd you come to join the asypes."
Not paying attention to where they were going, Coriko was shooken from his trance by the yelling of another one of these soldiers.
"There they are get them."
They had stumbled into one of those soldiers camp.
"Aw Crap!"
Posted by: Dude Man on Tuesday October 31st, 2006
Marshall stared blankly, he'd just been innocently following Coriko, and he led them into a camp. He'd say something to him, but who's the bigger idiot, the idiot or the idiot who follows the idiot?
Several warriors aimed their spear guns at them.
"Drop your weapons and surrender now, and your lives will be spared." One solider said.
Marshall shrugged and grinned. "Heheh. Okay." He lifted up his guns so they could see them; he then dropped them on the ground. He then pointed to the air behind them. "Oh my god, what's that!?" He shouted quickly, as if trying to trick them.
"Do you really think we are THAT stupid." One solider said.
Marshall grinned, as suddenly his wyvern (see late chapter 10) swooped down at one of the soldiers, grabbing it and flying up in the air. The other soldiers aimed their guns at the wyvern and fired. Only one spear struck the creature, yet it wasn't enough to take it down.
Wile the wyvern distracted the warriors, Marshall picked up his guns and shot fireballs and lightning strikes at them, taking them to the ground.
"Sound the alarm!" One shouted from another spot in the camp.

The slain running soldier lay dead, with a rather large pool of blood forming around him. Some time passed as Coriko and Marshall went off.
With a strained groan, the soldier got up. There was a strange purple glow coming out of his eyes and his mouth...
He looked around, and headed off to the nearest soldier camp.
Inside were two officers. One was chewing on a rather large slab of bintmeat, while the other one was reading a book with a metal cover. The soldier knocked.
-"Hey, is that you, Lukas? We were expecting you a while ago, where were-"
The bintmeat-chewing one finally noticed the glow through the soldier's eyes. He made a warning noise in the general direction of the other officer, and both of them rushed down to the ground, kneeling and bowing.
-"Lord Marshal, we were not expecting you. Our deepest apologies."
The soldier sighed. His voice was a lot heavier and a lot deeper than what it was before.
-"It is good to check on your progress once in a while. This particular warrior was struck down by an Aspye. I was told that this town was cleansed of that... that... that filth?"
-"We must have missed him, lord Marshal. We will report to lord Zjott immediately."
---
High General Zjott zu Helzer was sitting up in the half-ruined tower, looming above the city of Asgarnia. He glanced at the Kandarinian soldiers patroling the streets, noted that the citiznes were oddly not resisting as much as he expected them to. The assault was an overall success, and yet... and yet, something seemed amiss. Something that was right under his nose, he felt, but couldn't quite see what it was.
The door behind him creaked.
-"Lord General."
He immediately recognized the voice of a high ranking officer. He could tell even if he did not know who that person was - they had a certain presence in a room, much like he did himself.
-"Yes, Argo, I'm listening. What is it?"
-"Lord General, there have been reports of two armed men with beasts by them. Reports state that they have slain an unspecified number of Kandarinian soldiers, but we do not estimate the losses to be heavy. Less than 10, I am sure."
-"How cute... the city is trying to fight back."
He turned around in his chair, his expression of a soft smile rapidly changing into a scowl.
-"But you know how much I hate cute things. Find these... these ingrates, and bring them back alive."
Argo looked at the high general questioningly.
-"What if we encounter more resistance than expected, lord General?"
A subtle way of asking "what should I do if I screw up and kill him". Zjott's scowl vanished, and made way to his soft smile again.
-"In that case... Who knows? It's up to you."
-"Understood, lord General."
Argo strode out of the room, almost running. Zjott turned around, facing the window once more. There it was... a wyvern, by the looks of it, throwing around some poor fellow. Transfixed by the mesmerizing movements of the wyvern, he drifted off into a trance, lost in his own little world.
---
The patrols on the streets were greatly reinforced. Now, each patrol was containing two speargun soldiers, two lightning acolytes (basically, same thing as the speargun dudes, but lighter armour and heftier damage - with a lightning-based spell, obviously), and a shield-casting Adept, instead of just the two speargun soldiers. It seems that Argo decided not to put the entire city on the alert just yet - perhaps the threat was but a minor nuisance...

General Roland Ridgeway flew through the air, on the back of a blue wyvern, he summond. Asgarnia wasn't too far away.
Roland was thinking of that one young man, Marshall. He knew he was there. He may have been foolish, but his summoning powers were strong. In fact he noticed his skills in commanding his creatures and the speed he summons them at, were much better then when he was a member of the Blue Minotaur.
He was detirmened to kill him, and make him a minion of the Marshal (not Marshall). He is a threat to the Sovereignty. He knows a few of the secrets that the Minotaur knew, he may pass this on.
The crumbling walls of Agarnia were just below him. He lands his wyvern on the wall, and jumps off landing on the ground.
"Come on out mortal..."
----
Marshall, sensed something, he never actually sensed anything before in his life, but he had a gut feeling somebody dangerous is here.
He looked at Coriko. "Everyone knows we are here, now. We've got to leave." He then started running off. (Coriko told me he will be unable to post often, so we'll assume he's just following Marshall.) "Well, maybe we'll just be able to find a place to hide, I guess."
"When, my old home, the Blue Minotaur got taken over by zombies, I was able to escape by sneaking through an underground tunnel system we made. Maybe this place has got one of them sewage systems. I heard some of the richer towns have built in underground pipes that transfer wastes into the water."

Comfortable inside the P.C.S., Alex was soon briefed by Kleiner in front of a large corkboard with a map of the city mounted on it.
"Pay attention, Alex. We have confirmed reports of Kandarin soldiers here, here, and here," Kleiner said, pointing to three points on the map. "Now, I believe the most deadly weapon they carry is a high-power speargun. The new suit is heavily armored, but it can only take so much punishment. Then, you'll have to find a source of energy to recharge it."
"Recharge?"
"Why, of course. The suit no longer relies on physical armor to protect the user. Energy introduced into the armor allows the suit to bind the armor plating tighter. To recharge the suit, simply grab on to a compatible energy source, and the suit should do the rest. Most sources of energy are compatible with the armor, ranging from heat to Borderworld energy. Though, too much can overcharge the suit and make the armor so tightly bound that the suit becomes immobile. The joint grooves will flash when the correct amount of energy has been absorbed."
"Neat. So what's my mission?"
"Alex, your job is to locate the sources of insurgency at these three locations on the map, and then to render aid to them. If you can, try to lead the survivors back here."
"All the way back here?" Alex asked. "It's a good mile and a half through the tunnels."
"Yes, but we've managed to locate an entrance into the city that is relatively well-hidden. It's down that tunnel about fifty feet, and you'll see a ladder. Climb up that ladder and you'll be behind the general store, which is about in the center of the city. Be sure to stay on the look out for Kandarin guards, pits of stagnant water, as well as any xenofauna that may have migrated from the Borderworld during the incident. I believe your energy rifle will be the best suited weapon for this job."
"All right, will do," said Alex from behind a tinted visor.
"Best of luck to you," Kleiner said as Alex left the outpost for the city shortcut.
As Alex left the encampment, he came across a pool of clean water, unaffected by the radiation above. In its glassy surface, he saw his reflection. The suit was similar to its predecessor, but some notable changes were evident. The ebony armor across the suit was somewhat thicker for combat purposes, and the trademark grooves remained at the joints of the suit as well as up and down the limbs. However, the P.C.S. was less blocky in design. The suit's shape followed curved contours, with the elbow and knee guards ending with sharp points. On the left arm was the scythe that Kleiner had told him about, and on the right was a series of sharp, fin-like protrustions that could be driven into the ground should Alex ever loose traction. The long-jump module survived the transistion, and Kleiner noted this time a much more powerful kick would be delivered upon activation, at the expense of temporary disability to absorb shield energy and automatic medical systems.
What Alex liked the most about the suit was its appearance. It resembled the base of a metallic human being, with animalistic features such as the forearm claws on the right arm, the scythe on the left arm, and the sharped joint guards. It looked intimidating.
Alex had explicity advised Otis to stay behind, lest the little alien get injured out it in the field. He climbed up the ladder with relative ease, despite the obvious weight of the suit, perhaps it was cancelled out by some unmentioned device. Alex pushed up the manhole cover and slid it back. He pulled his armored frame up out from the underground into open air, and recovered the hole. The view of a ruined vista was still as shocking as he saw it the first time. He checked his bearings. He was indeed behind the general store, and could see some fighting going on a few hundred yards away. Some citizens had apparently armed themselves with whatever they had and were attempting to fight off the Kandarin guards. From the looks of things, the rebels were losing.
"Time for some hazard pay," Alex said to himself enthusiastically as he cocked his rifle.

//I'll go ahead and do this. I've not officially signed up the guys I'm introducing, but I will when the next chapter starts (And I hope it's a while off). :/
"..."
"..."
"...!" Zion's eyes shot open. Darkness. Darkness all around him. "Where am I?" He soon realized that he'd been restrained... Cuffs on his wrists and his ankles kept him bound to a wall behind him.
"Look, Zerobi..." A man emerged from the shadows. He had spiky brown hair similar to Xenai's, but spiked in a much more orderly manner. He had blood red eyes and light skin, and was sporting a tiered goatee. He looked a lot like a scientist, decked out in typical scientist apparel. "One of them has awoken."
"How splendid..." Another man emerged from the shadows, looking a lot like an inverted version of Tsu. He had grayish white hair styled in the exact same way, white eyes, and tan skin. He was wearing all black. A black cloak, a black opened button-up shirt, a black undershirt, black baggy pants, and a pair of black boots. "What do you intend to do with them, Dr. Genais?"
"In due time, good sir."
The man snapped his fingers, and the cuffs restraining Zion vanished, causing him to drop to the floor on his hands and knees. He got to his feet. "Who are you people?"
"Pardon me," said the scientist. "We've not properly introduced ourselves. I am Dr. Drake Genais, a genius in scientific and metaphysical warfare. And this..." He gestured to the other man. "...This is Zerobi no Anti."
"A-Anti?!"
"Yes, quite literally in the flesh. And you are Zion Ultima. And they..." The scientist's hand started to wander. It gestured off in the distance, where a spot light suddenly shone. "...are Xenai Omega..." He gestured to another wall. "...Tsu Nami..." And then another. "...and Aura Hikari."
"What the hell?! Where are we, and how the hell did you get us?!"
"I see no need to explain myself to you. I have an experiment to perform with you four." The man snapped his fingers one more, and the environment changed. They appeared to be in the ruins of Romme. The other three remained restrained, yet appeared to be in the air.
"What is this...?"
"A simulation, sir."
The dark-skinned man spoke up. "Is it time for me to do my thing yet?"
"Indeed it is. Go ahead and have your way with him. But do NOT kill him."
"Very well."
Zion braced himself, pulling out Eternity Weapon. But it was on much more quickly and more forcefully than he expected. Anti acted first, pointing his hand out. A flash of red glow surrounded his body, as if he charged a spell extremely fast. "Vehemence!"
Pillars of fire lashed out from under the ground at Zion, juggling him in the air. Whoa! Anti flew up at Zion, covering the 30 feet between them in a nanosecond. An extremely fast kick was shot up at his chin and sent him flying through the air. So fast... So powerful...
"GYAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!" With a truly maniacal laugh, he pulled his arms back and threw them forward rapidly, sending out a flurry of energy blasts at his victim. Zion righted himself in the air and started deflecting them with Eternity Weapon. Anti suddenly vanished, appearing behind Zion, pulling his fist back. Energy blasts were still approaching.
Damn! What a pinch! Energy blasts coming in from the front, and a fist from the back! He's not just fast and strong... He's smart too! I know... Zion dropped out of the air, and Anti's punch passed harmlessly over his head. Being thrown off balance, he had no opportunity to right himself and defend against his own energy blasts. He got hit by them all.
Zion floated away from the large cloud of smoke the energy blasts made. Anti flared his aura menacingly, pushing the smoke away. It created a black sword in its right hand and flew down at Zion. A volley of slashes and blocks immediately started between the two. Anti sneaked in a kick to Zion's gut, though, and sent the warrior flying. It brought its left hand into the air, creating a large sphere of dark energy. Zion righted himself in the air and braced himself, but Anti grinned and vanished again. No...! Zion turned around just in time for Anti to slam the sphere down onto him. A large explosion.
Drake smirked. "No chance. I thought so."
Zion was slammed into the ground near Xenai, extremely injured by the last attack. He slowly got to his feet.
"I'd better free one of the others, then." Drake snapped his fingers once more, and Xenai dropped from the wall. He soon regained consciousness and got to his feet. He immediately saw Zion, and soon after saw Anti, cackling madly in the air.
"Zion, what th' hell's goin' on?"
"I'll tell you later, if I find out."
Anti's cackle suddenly halted. He vanished and appeared between the two warriors. He stepped back, and before the two warriors could react, shot forward, slamming his hands into their faces and clotheslining them... kinda. He flew forward, taking the two warriors with them, slamming them through all walls and obstacles in his way. Upon reaching the shoreline, he let go and threw them into the ocean. He lifted his hands and created another gargantuan sphere within seconds, flinging it into the ocean to pummel the two. The explosion created a huge crater in the simulated ocean, all the way down to the floor where Zion and Xenai lay, beaten and bludgeoned. "GYAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Weak! You're both incredibly weak!"
Xenai got to his feet. "Bastard... Don't like it... When people badmouth me."
Zion rose also. "Can't die here, not yet."
The two started to yell as the water started to fall back into place. Their wings appeared, and energy started to overflow their bodies. It leaked out into their auras, causing them to flare up. The water couldn't actually reach them... The energy they were emitting pushed it away, encasing them in a sphere of air. "Well, well, well. Weren't giving 100% before, were you?" Anti cackled some more, but it was immediately stopped when Zion shot out of the water at an incredible speed, indignantly uppercutting the astral demon, sending him straight up. Xenai shot out then too, straight upwards. Once he got above Anti, he turned a flip and brought an axe kick down on his head. Anti was slammed into the ground.
"Grrrrr....!!!!" Anti hopped off of the ground and onto its feet, looking over his adversaries. The two were now glowing all over, even their strange, translucent, ethereal-looking wings. Zion glowed white, and Xenai glowed black. "I hope you mean business now."
"Oh, trust me..."
"We're ****in' serious now."
"Come down here and fight, then!"
Zion suddenly appeared in front of Anti, and started pushing him back with a fierce flurry of slashes. It was sudden, and Anti had no chance to defend himself. Zion halted and pointed his left hand out, sending out several energy blasts to push him back even more. Xenai suddenly flew in from the side with Zero Weapon, launching an assault of his own. The slashes weren't as fast, but with such a big sword, they hurt much more. Meanwhile, Zion charged up a spell.
"ARGH!" Anti caught one of the slashes.
"Urk-!" "I've had it with you!" He brought his fist back and furiously brought it into Xenai's gut, sending him far enough away from him.
"Consume all, flash of death!" "What?!" Anti directed his attention to Zion too late.
"Omni!"
The omni-directional gravitational field appeared around Anti and started to crush him. "AAARRRGGGHHH!! Bastard!" Xenai flew upward, extremely high into the sky. Meanwhile, Anti was starting to resist the spell. "No way..." Zion pushed harder to contain him, but it was rapidly draining his energy.
Xenai stopped in the air, shouting down at Anti. "This is the special edition of my favorite move! If this don't get you, I have no idea what will!"
"Super Omega Striker!"
Xenai shot down to the ground, instantly appearing there due to super speed teleportation, creating a sonic boom. His giant sword was held out in front of him as if he'd just slashed down through something, and he did. Anti screamed as he got shot through the ground in front of Xenai, and really deep into it. The ground crumbled and buried him. Zion released the spell and relaxed, though both remained in their powered-up state.
"Hmm..." Drake pondered the situation. "Interesting."
Zion and Xenai floated a good distance away from the ground as it exploded, giving air to rather unpleasant screeching. Anti was pissed. "You stupid sons of bitches! How could you inflict so much ****ing damage on me?!"
A feminine voice. "Hey, you!" Drake turned to see that Tsu and Aura had woken up.
"Ah... I think you should try to help your friends, not that there's a lot that you can do."
"Screw you! Let us down!" Tsu shouted at him.
"Alright." A snap of his fingers, and the two dropped from the walls and onto their feet. They hit the ground running, dashing past the scientist.
Anti floated up, charging up a beam of energy in each hand. He flung his hands forward and unleashed them, revealing them to be much more powerful and larger than they appeared. They engulfed Zion and Xenai and shot them backwards.
Tsu flung his hand down, he and his girlfriend a safe distance away from Anti. His hand erupted with lightning. He held it out to Aura, both of their wings appearing. She struck the lightning in various places, starting to make it swirl.
Anti was too pissed to notice the two behind him. It was charging up a spell, glowing with red and black energy. "I'll finish you two off, for good!"
Aura grabbed Tsu's arm and started to spin, trying to give him as much momentum as she could. Her long skirt lifted, flying higher and flattening out more about the waist as she spun faster and faster.
Zion and Xenai stopped themselves in the air, and looked past Anti at the two. Xenai decided to taunt him. "Go ahead!" He spanked his own butt. "I know what spell that is, and it doesn't scare me!"
"Fine, then! That's it!" Aura released Tsu just in time, and with good aim.
"Vehement Damna-"
"Rasengan Chidori!!!"
Tsu tore right through Anti with the swirling electricity, sending the energy crackling violently through his body, inflicting massive damage on every inch of the body. "NO! I can't believe I fell for that move AGAIN!"
Tsu turned to face Anti as Zion and Xenai floated next to him. "You lose, pal," said Zion.
"No... No I don't." Anti's body repaired itself... coming back together, even after being torn right through!
"No way..." Tsu's eyes widened.
"****in' hell..."
"Anti, that's enough!" He looked down at Drake.
"Did that guy just say 'Anti'?" asked Tsu.
"Drake, why are you ruining my fun?!"
"There are much more amusing warriors in the real world. Let's send these people back." He looked to Aura, then to Zion, Xenai, and Tsu. "You all fought extremely well. But you don't stand a chance. Anti and I will erase all of existence, and there's not a thing you can do about it. Farewell." Drake snapped his fingers, and it went completely dark again. The warriors all lost consciousness...
The four were all asleep on the ground, in the town that Tsu and Aura stayed at.

As Marshall (and Coriko, I suppose) ran through the city. Marshall spotted something emerge from a manhole. "What the..." Marshall's first thought was that it was a foe, but upon further examination, it appeared to be Alex, in his old suit…but...it looked a little different.
He dashed towards Alex. "Alex!" He called. "Man, am I glad to see you."

“Underground, how very appropriate. On the run, sure lets hide,”
Coriko was in a rant. He had stood back and done basically nothing while Marshall thwarted the soldiers attack.
“and another thing, at least let me in on the attack.”
He knew he was rambling and Marshall was probably getting pissed off. He felt badly for leading them into the camp then standing by while Marshall saved his ass.
“Listen I just fell badly, that’s all.”
All of a sudden Marshall stopped,
“What, now.” Marshall said something. “Who is Alex?”
Coriko followed Marshall over to greet their new ally.

-"I like... STUFF."
Whack.
-"What the hell are you, a babbling moron?"
The Kandarinian soldier was beating a citizen, because the latter wouldn't give him his name. Instead, he was blurting out random words and sentences.
-"There are things in the sewers..."
-"What the hell are you talking about???"
-"THE SKY! THE SKY ! ! IT'S FALLING! RIGHT ON ME!"
The solider looked up at the sky, reassuring himself that it was not, in fact, falling. He looked back down, only to find the madman chewing on the trooper's armour-plated sleeve.
-"Ah! Geroff! Spit that out!"
The citizen was making strange dog-like noises, and refused to let go of the metal plate. Finally, the soldier kicked him, setting a considerable distance between the man's mouth and his armour.
-"I'm a demon! I'm a DEMON, damnit! MARK MY WORDS, I WILL BE sipping tea at a ring."
With those words, the strange person ran off, hopping into a nearby sewer manhole. The Kandarinian thought whether to follow him or not, and eventually simply forgot the matter.
--- --- ---
Meanwhile, at a nearby pub...
-"Hey, have you heard? People have been going bonkers lately. Take that one kid, for example - the one that almost ate a tree, thinking that it was a demon from hell dressed in a chocolate costume. Or, another one - one we've recently just found - he fed his hand to a dog because he saw an old man touch his hand... he thought the man was a demon. Do you see the pattern? Very confusing stuff."
-"Shh! SHH! what are you doing?! Remember, the walls have ears everywhere!"
-"Oh, give me a break... back to the point, don't you see the connection? People are seeing demons all over the place, and it's driving them insane. I don't think that this is a psychological byproduct of an invasion. I think it's something much bigger..."
-"We'll need to see Kleiner about that. Come to think of it, I have seen strange things lately... Kandies seemed to grow fangs out of nowhere, scared the bejeesus out of me... then I looked closer, and the fangs were gone. Is that like, a weapon they're using?"
-"We can only guess..."

As Alex climbed out of the manhole, he laid his visored eyes on Marshall, who had apparently survived the incident. The sheen of the suit's smooth armoring reflected the moonlight through the glowing radiation above, giving Alex an almost ghostly glow.
"Marshall? Thank God! I just came from a resistance camp down below, they outfitted me with this new suit. I'm up here to show surviving citizens back to the outpost. I need all the help I can get, so why not give me a hand?"
Posted by: Dude Man on Tuesday November 7th, 2006
"Yeah, I see. Nice suit." Marshall said. "Yeah, of course I'll help." He then remembered Coriko. "Oh, where are my manners. Alex, this is Coriko." He then looked at Coriko. "Coriko, this is Alex." He then looked back at Alex. "Coriko has agreed to help us, we've been looking for survivors but haven't found much. I think the Kandarin pretty much got this area of the city cleaned out."
Posted by: Coriko on Wednesday November 8th, 2006
"Hello Alex, nice to meet you. Cool outfit. As Marshall said we couldn't really find anyone here but we didn't get far. There is still the other sections of the city to check. Shall we go?"
Posted by: Dude Man on Thursday November 9th, 2006
"Don't see why not. It'd be best to get a move on, since those Kandarinains are after us." Marshall stated. "So, Alex, do you have any idea were we could find anyone?"

(Awesomeness)
The construction progress on Count Vandrin's county was going quite well, the mage construction workers had the wall nearing completion in no time.
However, the number of construction mages was small, they did not come at a low price, so Vandrin only hired around twenty of them.
As for Count Vandrin's little plan, well...
The man was working in his keep, it wasn't even half completed but the basic structure was there and it was enough to live in. He even had a lab in the basement, with chemists working on a special chemical...
The room, lad was pretty dark, it had a few torches lighting the area, Vandrin said it might be best to have it dimly lit, due to the chemical they were working on. The lab had the basics a few tables with vials and such in them, and a wooden platform, were you would strap a person on, and perhaps inject them with things and see what happens.
The door opens and a man walks in, carrying a large bag, over his shoulder. Vandrin who was overseeing the operation was in the lab, he looked at the man. He had his order of a special herb, lightshade, which was a needed ingredient for this.
"I got more of the stuff for ya count. But, um, it ain't gonna come cheap. I lost a lot of good buddies trying to get this, ya know what I'm sayin'?"
Vandrin stared at him. "How much are we talking about?"
"Oh I'd say about one million gold pieces, for this all. I know it's a lot, but I mean this is expensive stuff."
Vandrin rubbed his chin. "Sorry can't afford it."
"You serious? I mean, you've got all this shit and you're saying you can't afford a measly one million!?"
"Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. I mean, I DO have that amount of money, but you have to realize, that my supply of funds it running low, I need to pay everyone, from the money from my own wallet."
"Oh...well." The dealer glared at him. "You mean, I had to climb all the way up into the caves of them Glacia Mountain that were crawling with zombies! I had my buddies killed and now you're saying I ain't gonna get any of my gold!?"
"Yes, is that a problem?"
"Damn, right it's problem!" The dealer then sheathed out a long sword, he then swung the sword down at Vandrin, the count quickly drew one his katana blocking the sword, his spun around, wile drawing his other katana to slash at the man's back.
The dealer dropped his weapon as he fell to the ground bleeding.
"Put one of the herbs into the chemical, and stir it up, quickly." Vandrin said to his chemist.
One of the chemists opened up the sack and extracted an odd looking herb that looked crudly like a star. They followed Vandrin's orders, as Vandrin picked up the man, and strapped him onto the wooden bed.
"Wha...what are you doing?" The man asked.
Vandrin ignored him. "Okay, fill up the hypodermic." The count said to one of his chemist.
"Lord, Count, we are not ready to test it. The result will defenatly be fatal." The chemist warned.
"Do it." Vandrin demanded.
The chemist put a needle into a vial of this bright green liquid, and filled it up the chemical.
"I'll do this." Vandrin said as he took the needle. He then walked up to the man. "Just close your eyes, don't struggle, it'll only make it worse."
Vandrin the grabbed the man’s arm, and then injected the needle into him. The man screamed, as the liquid in the hypo flowed into the man's bloodstream. Suddenly his eyes and mouth bled, it was simular to the effects of his posion magic.
"What do you know." Vandrin said, to the chemist. "You were right."

Meanwhile, Jacob was getting set in his new home. He was assigned a room in one of the four towers of the Jovil palace, the rooms reserved for the most important people to the Marshal. Only two of them were occupied - one by Jacob, and the other by Steorra. Jacob walked into his room, and looked around at its contents.
Nothing too special. A table, a bed, a mirror. It will have to do.
Looking around and making sure that no one was around him, watching, Jacob reached into one of the bags he brought with him. He felt a cold, smooth container. As soon as his skin touched the glass, the entire bag lit up with a soft blue glow. Jacob pulled out the glowing object.
It was a carafe, a glass container with a thick bottom and a thin top. The sloshing liquid inside of it lit up a label on the side. The label read "Serum 198".
It had been many months that Jacob was at work with this project. He has invented a new kind weapon - an invisible foe, jumping to and from its victims faster than one can blink. It was a parasite; a short-lived bug that infected the vulnerable human flesh with a condition with the exact same effect that Necromancer powers had on people. Jacob wasn't really a Necromancer himself; he studied life, and manipulated it through chemicals.
However, there was a problem with this new weapon. Once loose, it infected everything made of living flesh. Serum 198 was a temporary solution Jacob created for short immunity against the organism. It didn't have to be long-lasting, because the disease itself was very short-lived itself - with an average lifespan of only 10 minutes, once exposed to air. Jacob grew it in vials filled with blood, where the bug quickly reproduced, and went into a standby phase, once reaching a certain population.
Of course, both the weapon and the serum needed lots of work. For Jacob's plan to work, entire armies must be immune from it for days on - which is a lot longer than anything he has achieved. Same with the bug: to truly cause a pandemic, the organism must be alive for at least a month.
Finally, Jacob sat down at the table, took out a piece of parchment from his bag, and peered at it with a grin. On it were written formulas in a different language, as well as his true name. He only thought up the pseudonim Jacob by quick thought, to hide his true identity. For now, it will have to do...
"Jacob" finally stopped worrying about his name, and began scribbling something down on the parchment below the formulas.

The people of Aterra had organized a people's meeting, since there was no mayor or any government control everyone's voice was allowed be heard. What was the former town hall were the mayor was, was just a people's meeting house. Everyone sat around and began to talk over what should be done about the old mining cave.
"Something is clearly in there." Said the man from earlier (see dude who didn't die in my first post) "I suggest we just blow the place up and cave it in, trap the freaks inside."
"No, we can't do that." Said a woman. "Although the mine has been exhausted, it's still a part of our history."
"Yes, but most of that is bad history. The damned Crimson Empire enslaved us to work in that mine! I'd say it'd be honourable to blow the place down."
"That's a good point." Said an older man. "But you have to realize that it will be very dangerous to do that. There are many buildings near by; if we use explosives it will damage the surrounding homes. We would have to do something else."
"If only Haraldur were here, he'd be able solve our problem in no seconds flat." The first man said.
Several people nodded in agreement.

//sorry I just didn't want to keep waiting for someone to start this storyline back up//
Coriko was walking. He decided to split up with Alex and Marshall. They seemed like friends and he felt out of the loop. He figured he'd let them catch up while he searched for survivors. Coriko was walking when he saw a rundown shanty. Figuring something would need his help in there he walked over. Just as he was about to enter a black figure jumped out of the hut knocking Coriko over. The creature kept moving. Coriko, wanting to see his attacker rolled over and summoned his bow. He shot the creature in the foot. Coriko got up and walked over cautiously to the figure. The man looked at him. It was an elderly balding man.
“Oh, geez sir, I am so very sorry.” Coriko rushed over to him and broke the arrow. The man leapt on top of Coriko and started to chew on his arm.
“Ahhh,” Coriko punched the man with his free hand “get off!”
The man rolled off him and lunged for the sewer.
Coriko jumped up and started to walk past the sewer when the man attacked him again.
“DEMON, DEMON”
The man started screaming at Coriko as he lunged for him.
“I AM NOT A GOD DAMNED DEMON! Get the hell of me!!!!”
He jumped Coriko and then the man started biting on his belt quiver.
“How many freaking times do I have to tell you freak!”
Coriko kicked the man, who then turned and ran whimpering back into the sewers. Coriko stood up and was getting nervous. He could hear Marshall’s voice faint in the distance. He bolted for it. When he got to Marshall, Coriko explained what happened to him.
“What do you think is going on here?” Coriko was panting. “listen guys, I’m beat, let’s find a pub or inn or something to rest and recharge in. We can talk while we get some food.”

One of the people, a taller moustached man who kept quiet, spoke up.
-"Forget about enslavement. Forget about the resources. Just forget about everything you think of the mine right now, and look at it this way. That mine could be an important strategic point. We could hide troops in there, we could hide supplies--"
A different person at the back loudly interrupted:
-"No! Even if you do ignore the terrible memories concealed within (which I am not going to), you can NOT deny that that place is a deathtrap! I mean, the support poles are half-rotted, kids are playing "Catch the maggot" in there! A rock trown hard enough down the mine could collapse the whole thing!!"
There was a quiet murmur of agreement.
-"But can't we simply, say, reinforce the poles?" The moustached man seemed to be very determined to let the mine stay. "Look at it this way: we are attacked. The enemy is riding wyverns, and on foot, burning down everything in their way. What do we do? We run, and live for those precious ten minutes while they chase us down as jest, then slowly kill us? Or do we run into a redesigned, well-concealed enterance, where they will never find us, and then when the storm's over, just go about our business?"

//What ever you want Burton.
Not to sound like an ass Ein, but some of what was said doesn't make sense. If a rock could be thrown at a pole and the mine would be caved in, then wouldn't that solve their problem? And also saying that kind of ruined the point of my last post, with the thought of blowing it up. \\
"Well we CAN'T hide in the cave." Said the first man. "There are creatures of the undead in there! They killed my friend and I'm sure they will come into town soon enough!"
"Well, let's just send an attack party in, we'll get some lanterns to light our way, and then we will go into the cave and kill whatever is in there." Said another man.
----
"Well..." Marshall thought. "Alex, you can go off by yourself, if you want. I'll take Coriko back to that house we were at." He then looked at Alex. "I could introduce you to Ein."
They then started walking off. "The place isn't too far away."
"There you are...You aren't getting away from me now..."
Posted by: D. Ein on Wednesday November 15th, 2006
//No no no, that wasn't the point - you see, he was kind of overemphasizing the fact that the mine shaft is weak, thus going FOR the argument of blowing it up! obviously if you throw a rock down a gigantic pit carved in stone, that won't collapse it. Also, I wasn't trying to "ruin" your post - just playing devil's advocate. I had placed arguments for and against the mine's destruction, just to make it a bit more interesting. You have control of the NPCs as well, and the idea was yours to begin with, so the final thought obviously goes to you.\\
-"So you're afraid of a bunch of half-rotted corpses, which will crumble at the slightest touch?" It appeared that this man has never encountered undeads. "I mean, come on! What could be easier?"

//Okay, my apologies.\\
"You don't know man..." Said Mr. Firstman (That'll be the name of the first man) "You don't know. I my buddy get grabbed, I heard him scream in pain as he died in second when he was attacked. He pointed at him in a scowl. "Don't you underestimate these things!"
"He's right..." Said a warrior, who dressed in clothing of the Black Guard, he had scars over his face, and he looked in his late thirties to early forties. Everyone was quite and looked at him as he spoke. "I was in the Battle of Geif //the one in chapter 8\\, those...things are nearly superior to us humans, they take a lot of effort to take down." He stood up. "If these zombies that he has seen are the same ones that are the minions of Kronos, then the Kandarin already know we are here."
There were a few murmurs and gasp of fear and worry.
"I say we go in and get rid of the zombies." Firstman said. "I'm going in. Anyone with me?"
"I'm with you." Said the man, who first purposed the idea.
"It'll be dangerous." Said the middle-aged fighter. "So you'll need my help."
Several others stood up and offered to help.
"Okay, we're gonna need to prepare to defend an attack." Said the fighter. "I suppose those Kandies are gonna come soon.”
"Well what makes you so sure that these were Kronos' zombies?" Asked a woman.
"Other then a gut feeling? Nothing. But better safe then sorry…or dead." He replied.
Many others nodded in agreement.
"Alright." Firstman called. "Let's do this."

Coriko was curious to know about this Ein character.
"So," Coriko said trying to sound casual "what is... um.... Mr. Ein like? is he... you know... intimidating."
Coriko knew he sounded like an idiot, but he wanted to know what awaited for him at the house.
Posted by: Dude Man on Saturday November 18th, 2006
"Well, to be honest. Yes he can be at sometimes." Marshall said. "I've only known him for a few days, but I've become good friends with him. However, I've noticed (and as crazy as this sounds) that sometimes he goes into these strange trances and transforms into things, like just a couple hours before a met you he turned into a dragon and attacked us." He continued walking. "But don't get me wrong, Ein's a good man, just lately he's been kinda out of it, ever since his lady friend was executed by Kronos."
The duo then approached the cabin outside the town. "There it is." Marshall said pointing. He walked to the door and opened it. "I'm back." He said.
"Ah, good." Said the innkeeper. "Did you find anyone?" He asked.
"Yeah, this one guy. His name's Coriko." Marshall said introducing him.

Ein was wide awake when Marshall and Coriko walked in, and heard his name.
-"What?", he asked bitterly.
Posted by: Coriko on Saturday November 18th, 2006
Coriko saw Mr. Ein. He took a slow and loud breath in. Holding it there for several seconds he finally stuck his hand out and breathed out as he spoke in rapid succession.
“Hello Mister Ein. How are you? My name is Coriko and I’m an archer and control fire. Well you probably don’t care about that last part or you know all of it. But hey that’s okay, it’s all good." Coriko didn't retract his arm. "I don’t mind if you don’t want to know my name. I mean who is to say you even want me in the group. Yeah Marshall asked me to join but I’m sure you have say as well. Or you know maybe not. I’m not telling you should if you don’t. I don’t want to get Marshall in trouble. Not that you’re like a teacher or anything. I mean you wouldn’t make a good teacher.” He felt his facing getting hot and still not removing his hand. “Well you know who am I to judge you. You could be great with kids for all I know.” Coriko paused “okay bye.”
He turned and walked outside with what dignity he had left still holding his hand out. He sat down, leaning against the house and put his head in his hands.
“Oh god, I am such a god damned idiot! I am not a bumbling idiot, I am cool. Now he probably thinks I am an incopetant moron, damn it! Damn, why does he have to be so intimidating. He probably is a nice guy i just have it in my head he's gonna like suck out my soul. Damn me and my wild imagination. I saw huge zombies and this guy scares me, god!"
Coriko was mad. He got up and walked right back into the house.
"Listen there," he paused, he was angry but not disrespectful. "Mr. Ein. I am not an incompetant moron despite what you think! You are just bad on the nerves. Thank you Marshall for the offer but I may have to decline. I would really like to be a meber of the Aspyes but I dont think I can while still maintaining some dignity. I hope your mission is a succes. Lets do lunch some time in the future. Mr. Ein, you are intimidating and scare the shit out of me and you haven't even said two words to me. My advice; wear a bright colour. Like pink or yellow."
With that Coriko turned to leave the house swearing at himself under his breathfor is stupidity. Hoping beyond hope Marshall would stop him.
Posted by: Dude Man on Saturday November 18th, 2006
Marshall grabbed Coriko by the arm as he turned to leave. "Hey, hey, hey!" He said. "Slow down Coriko. Put yourself together." He dragged Coriko inside. He obviously wasn't thinking clearly. "Sorry, Ein. This one's just a little spooked I guess."
He looked at the housekeeper. "Hey, could you get this man some water?"
"Sure thing." The man said, and he went into backyard to the water pump.
"Just sit down, Coriko." Marshall then sat Coriko down on a chair. He then looked at Ein. "So yeah, apparently Alex found his old suit or got a new one. I was going to stay but this guy seems to be a bit stressed." He said. He then stepped away from Coriko, just to give him some time to breath.
The housekeeper came back with mug of water and handed it to Coriko.
Marshall then looked at Ein again, and spoke a bit lower. "So, are you feeling better now?" He asked Ein sincerely.

The people of Aterra, marched into the cave. Some were carrying lanterns to light the way. The people were wielding machineguns, swords, pitchforks, hatchets and hammers.
Within thirty seconds as they went into the dark cave, two zombies jumped from the darkness. The gunman fired at the zombies, knocking them to the ground. Several more zombies came out but were quickly stabbed, hacked and slashed by the Aterraians. The fighters stood at there positions, everything was quiet for several seconds.
"Is that it?"
"Are they all gone?"
----
Meanwile outside, one of the guards at a lookout tower spotted something not too far in the distance. An army of Kandarin warriors had apparently found their location, they were moving quite well for this type of rocky terrain.
"Sound the alarm!" The guard shouted. "Kandarins are approaching! They've found us! THEY FOUND US!
----
Suddenly, a horde of zombies jumped from out of the darkness in the cave. The fighters began battling them off. Guns were fired, blades were swung and blood was shed. The fight was going on for several minutes when the lanterns were smashed and the light was gone. The living humans couldn't see a thing, but the zombies didn't need the light. The fight was nearly impossible, but a few fighters were able to fend them off. Only three remained, the moustached man, the old black guard and good ole' Mr. Firstman.
"Firstman, you still alive!?" Called the old soldier, he could hear his voice as he blocked a wrist blade with his sword.
"For now." Firstman replied, as he stabbed a zombie in front of him with his pitchfork.
"So am I." Said the moustached man, as he smashed away at an undead with his hammer.
"Then get the hell out of here." The old fighter said. "Warn them. I think we just pissed these zombies off; they're going to get in here. Go now!"
Firstman and the other guy complied; they started to head towards the light, which lead to the outside of the cave.
An unarmed zombie suddenly tackled the moustached man and dug his teeth into the man's neck and the man wailed in pain as the zombie killed him.
Firstman was able to get out; he fell to the ground as he reached the outside. He crawled forward, he was exhausted and he could feel his heart pounding and pounding.
"There...are...too.... many...." Firstman gasped.
Several townsmen came to his aid. "Come on, we've got to get somewhere safe, Kandarin soldiers are coming." One said to him.
"Is the cave safe to go in?" Another one asked.
"We've got to get in the cave, the soldiers will kill us!"
"But there are still zombies!"
"Well, how can there be?" One said as he stepped towards the cave. "I don't hear anything"
"Are you sure?"
"Get back! Everyone, get back!" Yelled Firstman.
"Get in the cave. The Kandarins are getting close, and they will attack!" Yelled a guard.
"The zombies are still in the cave!" Firstman yelled. Just as soon as he yelled that several zombies ran out and began attacking everyone around. "It's a trap!"

Ein didn't reply to Coriko's greeting. He grumbled something, grabbed his crossbow, and went outside.
Posted by: Dude Man on Wednesday November 22nd, 2006
As Ein stepped outside, waiting there, was Roland, he seemed to just pop from nowhere, as he made his sudden appearance. He held his sword in his right hand with his wrist tilted and pointing the tip of the blade close to Ein's neck.
Roland smirked and looked Ein in the eye. "Well, well. If it isn't Kandarin's most wanted." He said mockingly in a quiet voice. His smirk lowered, and his eyebrows narrowed. "Get Marshall out here, and I'll let you live..." He whispered.
----
The guards of Aterra were actually able to hold off the Kandarin's pretty well. The magic cannons supplied by the first band of Aspyes have proven useful. The soldiers were falling quickly as they came in range.
However on the inside the zombies had the upper hand. Mostly it was just peasants that had to fight them off...
Firstman was quite a skilled fighter for a peasent. He was actually willing to apply and join with the Empire's ground troops just so he could get some money and not have to deal with the hardships of being a commoner. However after the Aspyes brought forth the new way of living he put that aside and went back to farming, but with a better attitude towards it, now that he could finally relax without the empire breathing down his neck.
Firstman was able to grab a decent sword, and began slicing and stabbing away at the zombies that came at him. Something was really strange, he noticed that zombies kept coming from the cave, it didn't seem right at all.
However, there is one possibility, maybe the Kandarin had found this place a while ago and maybe they built a tunnel connecting to the cave. That had to be the only explanation.
Suddenly a deep roaring came from the cave. Most of the peasants, guards and even a few zombies stopped and turned around to look at the cave. Emerging from the darkness out came a large assembly of bones.
"Oh shit..." Firstman groaned. "Necrodragon..."

Coriko left the building after Ein. He knew it probably was a bad idea, but he wanted to set things straight.
"Mr. Ein, I..."
Coriko stopped when he saw a man holding a blade to Ein's throat. He stopped Dead looking at the two. The man watched Coriko. Not wanting Ein to die because of him, Coriko slowly raised his hands. When they were at their peak he ignited them and shot a blast of fire at the man as quickly as possible to try and catch the man off guard.

Roland whipped around, unsheathing his sword as he went. The flying blast was sliced in half by the platinum blade, dissipating in the air. The undead general growled and turned back to Ein.
-"Anywho, where was I..."
Just then, Roland felt a cold, sharp jab at his stomach. Looking down, he saw Ein's crossbow pressing tight on his skin, the bolt nearly drawing blood. He looked back up to see Ein's grinning face, as Ein clicked the trigger. The bolt pierced the general's stomach, nearly knocking him back. Using the opportunity, Ein ran in the first direction his weary brain thought up of: back inside the tavern.
Roland heavily sighed, and, with great annoyance, pulled out the bolt, tossing it aside. He glanced at the tavern.
-"Damn kids today... they never learn..."
He sheathed his sword, and entered the tavern.
-"This house bears the prescence of a criminal wanted by the Kandarinian Sovereignty. Surrender the savage now, and this pitiful excuse for a tavern might be spared. Continue to hide him, and find your home go up in ashes."
The innkeeper looked around.
-"There's no one here."
Meanwhile, the heavily sweating Ein was watching Roland from behind a series of loose planks in the floor.
-"Indeed? Then what you're saying is that I am no longer capable of judgement? What kind of an idiot do you take me for?"
The innkeeper tried to keep his cool, alas, without much success.
-"Ah..."
-"I'm not blind. I saw him run in here. Now... where. is. he?"
-"Ah..."
-"Fine, have it your way."
Before the barman realized what happened, the top half of his head gracefully slid down on the floor, brains and blood splattering everywhere. Ein winced as a drop of blood seeped through the boards onto his face, as Roland sheathed his bloodstained sword.
-"Ein... come out, come out, wherever you are..."
The general's heavy boots thumped loudly against the creaking floorboards. Thump, creak. Thump, creak.
-"This is getting tiresome. Get out from wherever it is you are hiding."
Ein kept quiet.

"Leave him alone Roland." Said a voice from behind him. "It's me you really want."
Roland turned around. "Marshall..."
----
The necrodragon began to smash away at Aterra, crumbling down the buildings, nothing standing in it's way could stop it.
The only upside is that the guards were actually able to take out the entire Kandarin force heading towards them, the wall had suffered severely, but these soldiers clearly weren't as skilled as Roland's were on Geif.
The gun turrets spun around to shoot at the Necrodragon. A series of magic blasts began to rain on the undead creature but it only caused it to roar in annoyance and head towards them. One by one it smashed away at the gun towers.
----
"Why are you here Roland!?" Marshall asked demandingly. He had his MagiPistols pointed at Roland, however his hands were noticeably shaking. He was nervous. This made Roland grin.
"Oh for a number of reasons." Roland replied, he lowered his sword and stepped towards Marshall. "One, there is the bounty on Ein." He stepped closer. "Two, I can't allow anyone who entered Asgarnia to leave alive." He then lifted his sword a bit higher. "And three, I've come for you. We need you."
"Why?"
"Because you are still...fresh...alive. You still have the pure memory of the Blue Minotaur." Roland answered; he then spoke again before Marshall could reply. "What do you know about...the spirit?"
"Nothing much." Marshall replied. "Just that, he's the ghostly and godly spirit of the blue minotaur, who gives us our power and has assigned us to protect Gaian."
"Is the spirit real?"
"I honestly never believed in it. I thought it was just a story to give us moral. I believe in the Revolution now anyways. Haraldur is my new godly spirit."
"Ptt.." Roland spat. "Haraldur. Anyways...Apparently, this spirit may actually BE real, and it may be a single part of another spirit. Well, we need you to help us find it! Before me and the elder's 'evolution' we read that only a true follower of the Blue Minotaur could ever contact this spirit, the elder may have been able to but he's a senile old zombie now. We need you, alive, we need to find out were it came from, find out were the others are..."
Marshall lowered his weapons as Roland was talking; as soon as he was finished the undead general pointed his sword at Marshall's throat. "Come with me, and I'll let your friends live."
Marshall looked at were the dead man was lying and then back at Roland...
----
The armed peasants and guards of Aterra eventually got the point that there feeble attempts were useless on this mighty Necrodragon. They were all desperately wishing that Haraldur was here, only he could help them...
But it was too late, Aterra had been completely levelled, the necrodragon had destroyed ever building in the small mountain village.
----
"No!!" Marshall yelled, he then kicked at Rolands gut, causing both of them to fall back.
As Roland picking up his balance he was shot by a fireball and a bolt of lightning from Marshall's guns, he was knocked to the ground. He then got back up and looked at Marshall with deathly glare.
"You little..." Roland ran at Marshall. The summoner shot two more blasts but Roland blocked them with his staff. He then did an upper cut swing with his sword yet Marshall backed out of the way.
Roland pointed forward his staff and the shot a gel monster right from the gem. The monster then grabbed on Marshall's chest. He pointed one of his guns at it, and shot it off with a fireball. Just then he was smashed in the face with Roland's staff and fell to the ground.
As Marshall was lying on the ground. Roland looked outside at Coriko, he glared at him and closed the door and locked it. Marshall then holstered his magipistol with the yellow gem, and then held on to his amulet and quickly summoned a vampire bat then flew towards Roland and began to bite at his face, causing him to drop his weapons.
Marshall ran into the kitchen, and began panting.
Roland ripped the bat off his face and tossed it onto the ground, and stomped on it's neck, killing the critter, he picked up his weapons, and began walking around the house.
"It's sad Marshall. You hide behind our creatures and have them fight for you. Yet I only use my creatures to help me fight, or use them as a weapon. That is why you are a coward and a weakling. I always thought that."
Marshall sighed. He was getting upset, but he had to remember that's not Roland. Roland is dead.
"Come on Marshall. Be a man." He put his weapons down on the floor. "Tell you what. I'll fight you unarmed. Let's go."
Marshall sighed again. He had to fight him soon enough. He then stepped into the living room were Roland was. He then holstered his other gun.
"Ah, you're putting away your weapons. Finally."
Marshall then ran at Roland and swung a punch at his head, yet his wrist was grabbed and twisted before he could hit him. The pain caused Marshall to turn around. Roland then let go and then kicked Marshall in the back, knocking him the ground and began stomping on him. Marshall then gained his strength back and then rolled over avoiding another stomp. He then kicked at Rolands legs, hopping knock him down, but all it did was annoy the undead man.
Marshall quickly crawled backwards and got back up. Roland slowly walked towards him shaking his head. Marshall saw that Roland was clearly stronger then him and this fight was unfair, so he picked up Rolands staff from the ground and swung it at him. Roland avoided the swing by backing up. He then strafed around him, and then picked up with sword and swung it at Marshall. He blocked the blade with the staff, and the two weapons locked. Roland was pushing back Marshall, it didn't seem like the young man could win. Unless...
Marshall focused his magical energy into the staff, and the gem began to glow.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing!" Roland yelled, as he backed away. Marshall pointed the staff at Roland. He sheathed his sword and then ran at Marshall and grabbed his staff. "Don't you use MY staff!!" He began to pull the weapon away from Marshall, put the man was determined and was able to keep it away from him. Roland began to focus his magical energy into the staff as well.
"Don't!" Marshall yelled. "The monster will go rouge!!"
Summoned from the gem was a multi-coloured wyvern with four wings, apparently the two summoners had a different idea of what to summon. The roof of the house was smashed and the creature screeched and looked at Roland and Marshall. And the two looked at it as well. Marshall let go of the staff and then backed away.
"Amazing..." Roland said, looking at the mutant creature. The wyvern then dove down at Roland. "Noo!!" The creature grabbed him and it flew away with his prey.
Marshall then leaned back on the wall and slid down to sit on the floor, breathing deeply...
----
The forces of evil had taken over the entire continent, not a single free city.
In the distance, good ole' Mister Firstman could be seen. He saw that all hope for Aterra was lost, but not all hope for Gaian. He would seek out others, and together they would form a resistance...
Many people of the revolution may be dead, but the battle for freedom will never die.
To be continued...
